Four Reasons momAgenda = Marvelous

I am hopelessly devoted to the momAgenda day planner. As a mom who repeatedly batters my day planners (drop in puddle, leave on stove…), I’ve recently turned my back on those clearance-bin discount day planners and finally found something that stands up to my constant abuse and random scribblings – witness the damage endured without so much as a torn page by the momAgenda Desktop in Royal Blue which is personalized with my name:

I recommend products that don’t suck and will give scathing reviews of the ones that do. Rest assured, I’m devoted to this day planner solely because its saved my sanity a few times this year. It’s not just me with one-too-many appletinis in my system, either; momAgenda is hot!

Four Reasons to Love the momAgenda

It looks cool.

Many mom-centric companies still have yet to figure out that moms still want to look cool and out-fashion other moms at playdates, (you’d think the sandbox was a runway sometimes). There’s this whole “comfort over style,” as if moms should stay in sweatpants until their kids are teenagers. Not with the momAgenda.  There’s no boring black or beige or any of those other ho-hum shades. The momAgenda comes in eight delicious colors, including two fierce faux croc.

The momAgenda is actually useful.

You would think, as a tech-savvy parent blogger, I would prefer to use an email calendar or blackberry. I don’t. Because I hate setting reminders and having one come up and beg for my attention when I’m on the phone, tweeting, or online window shopping at Godiva.com.  I have kids that pester me all day – I don’t need an electronic calendar “reminding” me I need a manicure.

Shoot, I need a manicure.

The momAgenda has planning space for your kids so when that judgmental commercial comes up and says “It’s 10:00, do you know where your kids are?” I don’t look around and wonder. I just open up this day planner and there it is  – December 11:  Sleepover with Billy.
Wait a minute? Who’s Billy? The weird kid with the mullet and pet ferret? momAgenda has enough planning space to write those important tidbits down. Note: Never let kids hang out with Billy.

Inspirational quotes.

momAgenda was thoughtful enough to include inspirational quotes on the planning pages. We’re sure they did this because moms need inspiration when they’re rushing around with teary-eyed toddlers and haven’t had an adult conversation in two months. But the inspirational quotes have another, not-so-obvious purpose: You can use them to sound like a well-read intellectual at those dinner parties with the pretentious Architect and his perfect wife.

You are smart. But after another night with less than four hours of sleep, the Yeats quotes don’t exactly roll off the tongue, do they? Just open up the momAgenda and look for an opportunity to say, “As Yeats once said…”

Cuts Down on Husband-Wife Bickering

With this planner’s scheduling space for mom and up to four kids, bickering with the husband has been reduced.  When he says,  “It’s Your Turn to Pick up Susie”  I just simply say, “Let’s look in the planner”. He usually backs away slowly, picks up his keys and heads out the door.  It’s written down and therefore, there’s no argument over whose turn it is.
