Sampa Uploader
The Sampa Uploader is an application for Microsoft Windows® that allows you to upload pictures to your Sampa Site.
You can upload one picture or many quickly and easily.
Does the Uploader work on Macintosh or Linux?
At the moment, the Uploader is only available for Microsoft Windows.
What size pictures can I upload?
You may upload pictures of any size. Pictures larger than 6 megapixels will be automatically downsampled.
Will uploaded pictures overwrite existing pictures on my site?
To prevent you from accidentally losing pictures, an upload will never replace a picture on the site,
even if you upload a new picture with the same name as an existing picture.
To replace a picture delete the existing picture and upload a new one.
What information is sent to Sampa?
The Sampa Uploader communicates with the server three times:
- To verify that your site exists -- only the site name you type in is sent
- For sign-in -- your credentials are sent to the server
- To upload your pictures -- only the pictures you've chosen and their names are sent
We don't collect or transmit any other information from your computer.
How do I uninstall the Sampa Uploader?
Use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panels.
Are there any limitations?
You can upload 30 pictures at a time.
What if I have a previous version installed?
A new install will upgrade your previous install.
However, if you installed the beta version of the uploader, you will have to uninstall it before installing the final version.
System Requirements
Most computers running Microsoft Windows meet our minimum requirements to install and run the Sampa uploader:
- Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, or Windows Vista
- Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0 (you can install it from Microsoft Windows Update)
- High-speed Internet Connection
In addition, the following are recommended:
- Screen size of 1024x768 or larger (800x600 is supported)
- 1GB of memory (512MB is supported)
- High-speed Internet Connection
If you have a firewall, port 80 (HTTP) must be unblocked.
